"Revolution, Peace & Justice" Wooden Slate- لوح حرية ,سلام و عدالة
لوح حرية, سلام و عدالة
On October 25th, 2023, the painting was completed, a year after the military coup. It was inspired by my visit to Sudan, where I witnessed the first demonstration in Khartoum, followed by others in 4 main areas: Burry, Omdurman, Al Gadarif, and Atbara. Each corner of the painting features a landmark from one of these areas, while the center showcases a young Sudanese woman representing the revolutionary youth generation. She stands as a symbol of hope and defiance, as they fought against injustice, civil wars, and oppression. The characters surrounding her tell the stories of the heroes who bravely fought for the revolution, including a child from Gadarif who was the first to be killed by the police, a mother who buried her son with the Sudanese flag on his grave, and a group of men carrying a fallen protester to his final resting place. Other figures include a young man wearing a mask made of the Sudan
